Compute statement

A compute statement is an equation that lets you define a method for calculating depreciation of an asset, replacement value for an asset, or the insured value of an asset. The compute statement consists of numbers, dictionary items, parentheses, and mathematical operators. You can select predefined dictionary items from a list.

You can use a compute statement to define a calculation method that specifically meets your needs. You cannot use a compute statement with a percent table or a Unit of Production (UOP) table.

Note: The compute statement described in this chapter is different from the compute statement used to calculate depreciation for asset-class (Part-32) books.
