Uses of attributes (AC/BR/GB)

An object type identifies where you can use an attribute. It is important to associate each attribute with at least one object type. Object types are Lawson-defined. This table lists the object types that can be associated with attributes in Project Accounting and Grant Management:

Object type For attributes assigned to
ACTVY Activities
ACTRN Activity transactions
ACGRP Activity group
ACCAT Account category (summary or detail)
GMGRT Grants
Note: You can use an attribute with more than one object type.

You can also associate these additional object types with attributes in other Lawson applications:

Using attributes with activities and activity groups

When you use attributes with activities or activity groups, you have the option to store additional information and select specific activities or activity groups for reports, inquiries, and processing. The previous example shows how Moose Wood Outfitters used attributes to select activities in their new store construction project based on the square footage of each store. They could associate additional attributes with each activity or activity group to identify the project manager, region, date opened, and more.
