About copying assignments
Once a category structure is assigned to an activity group, each account category in the category structure is then available for posting in all activities in the activity group. Override assignments are created at the posting activity and/or account category levels. General Ledger Accounts are assigned at the activity group level, but can also be assigned at the posting activity level or even account category level.
When performing a copy, the record will be first identified by the appropriate activity group, activity, and account category.

-
Activity Group, Activity, Account Category is blank.
-
Activity Group, both Activity and Account Category are blank.
The copy enables all assignments to be copied from an Activity Group, Activity, Account category range or Group to:
-
Activity Group List
-
Activity Group
-
Up to six specified Activities
-
Activity List
-
Account Category Range
-
Account Category Group
The assignments that you can select for copy include:
-
Account Category overrides
-
GL Account Assignments
-
Burdens
Edits for each type of copy selected are performed as the job is added or changed. For example, if you want to copy both Account Category Overrides and GL Account Assignments; the account category override selection requires an account category range, but the GL account assignment copy does not. In this case, the job will require population of the account category parameter. A different job is required to copy GL account assignments at the Activity or Activity Group level.
Copying account categories
You can copy Account Categories as a one-to-one assignment or as a one-to-many assignment. If a single account category is specified on the Copy From tab, all assignments for that account category are copied to a range or group of account categories.
If a range or group of account categories is specified on the Copy From tab, the same range or group must also be assigned on the Copy To tab. Assignments in this case are copied only from and to the same account category if it exists on both the Copy From and Copy To tabs. Account categories that do not exist in both the Copy From and Copy To structure are not copied.
Copying account category overrides requires an Activity Group and Activity on the Copy From tab.
Copying account assignments
Copying account assignments requires an Activity Group on the Copy From tab. Activity and account category are not required fields on either the Copy From or Copy To tabs. Only the lowest level of details entered on the parameters are created. For example, if activity group, activity, and account category fields are all completed, then the new assignments created will have all three levels. No assignments for activity group and activity alone are created. Creating separate jobs is needed to also create an activity group and activity assignment or just an activity group assignment.
Copying burden assignments
Copying burden assignments requires an Activity Group on the Copy From tab. Activity and account category are not required fields on either the Copy From or Copy To tabs. Only the lowest level of details entered on the parameters are created. For example, if activity group, activity, and account category fields are all completed on the Copy To tab, then the new burden assignments created will have all three levels. No burden assignments for activity group and activity alone are created. Creating separate jobs is needed to also create an activity group and activity burden assignment or just an activity group burden assignment.
