Summary of reporting and online analysis options

This table presents an overview of the reporting and online analysis methods provided with Project Accounting. You can find details about each of these methods in the succeeding chapters.

Option Description For Details
Performing online analysis Online analysis forms give you access to current activity data such as activity balances, resource balances, and transaction information. Online analysis forms are useful to check a small amount of data. See Access data online.
Running standard reports Reports provide a printable record of your activity data, which you can make comprehensive or narrow in scope. Reports are more complicated to set up and require several processing steps. You can save reports. See Run standard reports.
Using Transaction Writer The Transaction Writer program lets you define transaction reports that list transaction detail for an activity group list, activity group, activity, activity list, or account category. You can select which transactions to include in the report, which transaction attribute fields to include, and how the transactions are organized and totaled. Use this program to report on transaction attributes you define. See Define transaction attributes and Create Transaction Writer reports.
