Invoice Creation (LM131)
Run Invoice Creation (LM131) to create lease invoices or to create a GL accrual entry based on the parameters you enter and the payment schedules defined for the leases. You can create invoices for one lease or for all leases within a company, company group, or attribute list. If you indicated that you would like to accrue rent on LM21, a GL accrual entry is created instead of an invoice. You can also limit the lease selection by lease classification and by lease type.
Process at a Glance
-
(This step) Create lease invoices, or GL accrual entries, using Invoice Creation (LM131).
-
(Optional) Adjust invoices using Invoice Adjustment (LM31.1)
-
Approve the invoices using Invoice Payment Approval (LM36.1) or Mass Payment Approval (LM136).
-
Interface the invoices to the Accounts Payable system using AP Interface (LM140).
-
(Conditional) Calculate interest for capital lease payments, using Interest Calculation (LM180)
-
Post leases, using Lease Posting (LM190).
-
(Conditional) Terminate leases due for closing, using Lease Termination (LM45.1).
-
Close period, using Period Closing (LM199).
Processing Effect
If a debt/expense (operating) or executory cost allocation code is attached to the lease, the payment/expense is multiplied by the percentage for each company/accounting unit defined for the allocation code.
To review the invoices created by your selections without actually creating them, select N (No) in the Update field.
More Information
If the lease classification is Operating and the straight-line flag on the payment schedule is set to "yes", the invoice calculation is:
- Rent expense will be the straight-line amount plus any compute payments. Executory code payments will be on a separate distribution line.
- A separate distribution line for deferred rent will be calculated by subtracting the straight-line amount from the payment amount defined in the payment schedule.
