Finished Good Replenishment (IC143)

Run Finished Good Replenishment (IC143) to print a report of finished goods that must be replenished or to create forecast demand for such finished goods.

Before you run this program, you must use Production Schedule (WO20.1) to schedule existing forecast demand generated by a previous run of this program. Otherwise, if you run this program using the Add option in the Impact on Forecast Demand field, this program will add the demand calculated by this program to the previously calculated demand and the forecast demand will be overstated.

Processing Effect

If you run this program in report mode, the report applies to finished goods set up as items in Item Location (IC12.1) with the following.

  • Inventory locations set up as production facilities in the Location (IC02.1) Work Order tab. (Define production facilities by setting the Work Order Number Method field to A, for "Auto assign WO numbers," or M, for "Manually assign WO numbers.")
  • The following set up in the Item Location (IC12.1) Reorder tab: reorder point with a value greater than the existing available quantity and a reorder document type of W for work order.

Available quantities are based on the current stock-on-hand quantities minus allocated, picked, and backordered quantities plus on-order and intransit quantities.

The Finished Goods Replenishment Report identifies finished goods that have dropped below their reorder point and need to be replenished. This report prints by company and location.

If you run this program in update mode, this program calculates replenishment quantities for finished goods that have an available quantity less than the reorder point.

In update mode, to determine the date needed for the replenishment, the program uses the value entered in the Projected Production Date field and adds the leadtime days defined in the Item Location (IC12.1) Source tab. (Leadtime days are defined in work days.)

You can create released or unreleased demand based on entries in the Release field. Forecast demand is created by this program based on the reorder document code of W for Work Order in the inventory item location record. Unreleased forecast demand can be reviewed and released in the application.
