Accrual Amount Formula (TA30.1)
Use Accrual Amount Formula (TA30.1) to define calculations that determine accrued hours based on flat hours or calculation formulas.
Processing effect
Both flat hours and calculation formulas calculate accrued hours according to the number of hours an employee works in each accrual cycle. Both types use one or more pay classes to determine the number of hours worked by an employee.
The first type gives employees a flat amount of hours for a range of hours worked.
For example, in a plan that accrues weekly, employees who work up to 40 hours earn .75 hours. Employees who work more than 40 hours during the week earn .80 hours for that week. To set this up, specify the values in the From, To, and Accrual fields.
The second type accrues hours based on calculations that use a ratio of the hours worked in a pay class to the number of hours in an accrual cycle multiplied by the defined factor.
For example, in a plan that accrues weekly, employees who work up to 40 hours will earn a factor of .75 multiplied by the ratio of hours they worked.
Employees who work more than 40 hours during the week, earn .80 multiplied by the ratio of hours they work. To set up this calculation, specify the values in the From, To, Pay Class, Hours and Factor fields.
An employee who worked 40 hours in the pay class will earn (40/40) * .75 = .75 hour. An employee who worked 50 hours would earn (50/40) * .80 = 1 hour.
In both types, if you select more than one pay class, then the system adds the results to determine the accrual hours for the employee.
You can define up to 24 formulas for each calculation.
