Historical Purge (AM300)

Run Historical Purge (AM300) to purge selected asset records, past or current, from the Asset Management database. Typically, you use this form to reduce the size of the database files, you would apply it to historical data only. You can, however, purge current data such as test data.

You can purge one or more of the following types of records for the company or company group and date range you select: Adjustments, Transfers, Disposals, Transactions, Comments, URLs, Repairs.

If you select Yes (Y) in the Archive field, AM300 generates a comma-separated value (CSV) file in the $LAWDIR/productline/work directory (UNIX) or in the /LAWDIR/productline/work directory (System i) for each file that you selected for purging.

Caution:
This program permanently deletes data. Before you run this program, back up the data according to your organization's procedures. Before you submit the report, carefully review the parameters.
Caution:
AM300 always uses the same file names (one for each type of file). This means that any time you run AM300, the previously generated purge files are overwritten by the new ones. If you want to preserve a previously archived purge file, you must copy it to a different directory before running AM300 again.
