About user monitoring roles

When you run the ssoconfig utility to configure the security server, you will assign additional server roles. These roles define the type of security processing that will handled.

DEFAULT: Handles most "normal" security processing, including authentication and authorization. This role is automatically assigned when the server is craeted.
USER MONITORING: Handles most user monitoring processing.
FEDERATION: When multiple systems are federated (for example Infor Lawson System Foundation and Infor Landmark Technology), this role handles federation tasks such as user provisioning and ISS sync processing.

Note: If your system was federated using the "dump and load" procedures (that is, you federated your system without using Infor Security Services), you do not have to assign the FEDERATION role to your security server.
