What are Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le) and Lawson Portal?
Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le) is the interface that provides access to most Infor products.
Lawson Portal is a plug-in interface to Infor OS Portal (or Infor Ming.le) through which users of applications that run under Infor Lawson System Foundation access and navigate the system.
Lawson Portal allows Lawson to be a thin-client system, meaning that the browser is the only client that a user needs. For typical users, Lawson Portal is the framework through which they view Lawson from authentication to log-out, and serves as the vehicle through which they run reports and view and update application data.
Following is a list of the most important services that Lawson Portal provides to Lawson users and administrators:
-
Interface to all Lawson application forms and jobs and reports
-
Quick navigation to frequently used content and URLs through bookmarks and favorites
-
Access to online help: Lawson Portal renders application and Lawson Portal help in the browser.
-
Localization: Lawson Portal checks configuration for locale settings and ensures that applications and forms display in the local language.
