User Attributes for Date and Time Rules
A set of user attributes delivered with Lawson Security determines the user's behavior for date or time-based rules. This section provides an overview of those attributes and describes how and when to change them.
You need to make changes to the delivered date / time user attributes if you have written rules that take date or time into consideration. If you have chosen not to create date / time rules at your site (users can either access a securable object or not regardless of date or time), you do not have to make any changes to the attributes described in this section.
Even if you do use date / time rules, you might not need to change the user attributes. Lawson ships default values that should apply to many customers. If you do need to change user attributes, do so when you add the user to the system or, if the user is already in the system, use the Resource Management Administrator to locate the user and change the user's entry in the Lawson LDAP directory.
Following are some examples of rules that take date or time into consideration:
-
Data Source A is not available (to users who have been assigned the rule) after 6:00 PM.
-
Report B (a batch job) runs only on Saturdays at midnight.
-
User C can view User D's data for a specific time frame (start and end dates are specified in the rule). This would let User C temporarily cover User D's duties during vacation. The rules allowing access to User D's data would expire automatically at the end of the time frame. (This same result could be accomplished by assigning User D's roles to User C at the start of the time frame. However, the security administrator would have to manually remove the roles at the end of the time frame.)
