Infor Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office User Requirements
At the most simple level, if you want to grant access to the product itself, follow these steps. Additional fine-tuning access is described in the sections that follow.
Required Resource Management attribute
SSO checks the attribute "Addins" in the user's entry in the Resource Management repository. If it is populated with "ALLOW" or left blank the user can access the tool.
If you are upgrading from an earlier release of Lawson and you had populated the user's RD30 record with "ALLOW" or "DENY" for this attribute, the upgrade process carried over your RD30 settings.
For new Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office users, the default is set to DENY and must be changed to ALLOW. There are several ways to change the value of the attribute:
-
You can populate the Addins attribute when you add a new user or update it at any time.
-
You can use the Mass Assign feature to update it for a large number of users. (This method should only be used if the Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office users have a characteristic in common or if you want to change the attribute setting to ALLOW for all users.)
-
You can also set a default value of ALLOW or DENY through Schema Editor. For more information, see the section "Changing the Default Value of a Resource Management Attribute".
Security access
Like all users who are secured through Lawson Security, Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office users must be explicitly granted access to the forms and data they need.
In addition, all Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office users must be assigned a role to access data associated with query tools. Customers can create a role that provides this functionality. The requirements for the role and steps for creating it appear in a later section of this document.
