What Is the loadusers Utility?
The loadusers utility is a command-line method for:
-
Creating a default user
-
Mass-loading user data into the Lawson system using an XML file that you create at your site as input
Default user
As a post-installation step, a special user was created who
will serve as an identity on the Lawson system for users who do not
need unique IDs on the operating system. Running loadusers in this
way (-g
option) was a one-time procedure. You will
not need to do it again.
Creating the default user is not described in this section because it was performed when Infor Lawson System Foundation or the appropriate service pack was installed. (For information about creating the default user, see Infor Lawson System Foundation installation documentation.)
When you run loadusers to mass-load users and attributes, you need to be aware of whether a user is associated with the default user or requires a unique identity on the operating system. Depending on which situation applies, the attributes you populate for a user will be different.
Mass-loading user attributes
You can run loadusers at any time to populate your Lawson LDAP with user data. Typically, this is done to initially populate the system. Any attributes that can be associated with a user can be populated, including any unique attributes that you created for your site.
This document describes two example scenarios for which loadusers might typically be used.
-
Adding users and attributes for Self-Service center users:
Self-Service center users often have the same or similar access needs on the Lawson system. They also typically make use of the default user.
-
Adding users and attributes for users who have unique OS system IDs and who need unique identities on the Lawson Environment service.
