Custom Page Designer Sessions: Starting and Ending

When you choose to create a new custom page, you will be at a blank custom page design window.

The "Using Custom Page Designer" section explains how to work with tools and properties to create or modify a custom page.

When you are finished making changes to the custom page, select Save or Save As from the file menu.

Depending on what changes you have made in the session and how and where you choose to save, saving works in different ways:

• If you are using the Save feature to save your custom page to a local or remote location, you are prompted to save your XML document in any location on your local drive. The default location is the save location specified in Options (Tools Menu, see "Customizing Design Studio Features".) You will only be prompted one time for name and location and all custom page objects (nuglets) will be saved together.

• If you are using the Save As feature to save your custom page to a local drive, saving will work as described for Save.

• If you are using the Save As feature to save your custom page to a remote location, you are prompted to save each custom page object (nuglet) individually. For example, if your custom page includes an image, an web page, and a data query, you are prompted for the name of a .jpg (image file), a .htm file (web page) and a .dme file (data query). The custom page (XML definition) is stored under LAWDIR/persistdata/lawson/portal/content/pages. Each nuglet are saved in the appropriate folder under ..../content/. See "Lawson Design Studio File Structure, Release 10.0" for details.

When you are finished working with a form, you can use the File menu to start another session with any of the designers. When you exit the Lawson Design Studio and any work is not yet saved, you are prompted that changes are not saved after closing the window.
