Creating a Query to Drill Around Data
You can retrieve drill data by making an API call to the Lawson Drill servlet.
Building the API call to Drill
With the drill object selected, click the Custom button on the Properties pane. The Drill Around Query dialog box appears.
Click the hyperlink to the right of the API field and make selections for these items:

Drill Around (data area)

System Code

FormThis is the form that you want to run your inquiry against.

Drill Around Path (KNB): Select a key number field.

Required Drill Keys: Specify a value for the key field.
Click Build API when you are finished specifying the data. You are returned to the Drill dialog box.
Formatting the output
On the General and Drill Keys tabs, make selections for these options:
Option | Description |

Use Webuser PDL | When this option is selected, the query inquires against the data area of the user who is running the query. If this option is not selected, the query is run against the data area of the user who created the query. |
Max Rows | The maximum number of rows to be retrieved in a single query. Default is 50. |
Drill Mode |
Choices are Drill or Explore. The Drill option lists records on the custom page. The Explore option causes the Drill Explorer feature to open on the custom page so that users can view records by selecting key fields. |
Value | For key fields, select a default value. |
Trigger Refresh | When objects are mapped, any change to a custom page data source refreshes the object with new data. |
