logparser - Log Parser

logparser {-f pathOfLogFile -o destinationFile} | -gui

Use this utility to parse HTML-encoded security logs and convert them into readable log files. For more information, see Lawson Administration: Server Setup and Maintenance.

To parse HTML-encoded log files using the interface option:

  1. Make sure your Infor Lawson environment variables are set. From a Windows command prompt, specify enter.cmd to set the environment variables. Then, specify this command to display the log parser interface:

    logparser -gui

  2. In the Input Logfile field, specify the filename of the log file that will be parsed. Alternatively, click Choose File to select an existing log file.

  3. Click Open. You can either print the parsed logs to a separate file or display the parsed logs on the interface.

    1. Printing the parsed logs to a separate file

      • In the Output Logfile field, specify the destination file. If you don't specify a directory path, the output file will be created in GENDIR/bin.

      • Click Print to File. If printing is successful, the interface will display a message below the interface.

    2. Displaying the parsed logs on the interface

      • Click Display Logs. The parsed log files are displayed below the interface.

  4. Click Clear Logs to clear the displayed logs below the interface.
