Tabbed browsing setup in Role Manager
You can use Tabbed Browsing to open multiple forms from within the same instance of Lawson Portal. When this function is enabled, the tabs are located below the navigation bar of Lawson Portal. The tabs in Lawson Portal work the same way as browsing tabs in any browser.
Tabs behavior
When you launch Lawson Portal, a single tab opens in the user's home page. Click the New Tab button from the User toolbar to open additional tabs. Click the X button to close the tab. You can close tabs as long as at least one tab remains afterward.
When navigating to any page, such as a bookmark or a token, the page loads in the currently selected tab. Tab pages can also be configured to point where you want them to.
Role configuration
When you access a role from the Role Manager, select the Allow tabbed browsing check box to allow opening multiple tabs in Lawson Portal. When this check box is cleared, you can only use the first tab and you are prevented from opening additional tabs.
This shows the enabled tabbed browsing in Lawson Portal:
Hotkeys
Assigned hotkey | Hotkey action |
---|---|
Alt+Q | Cycles through the open tabs. |
Ctrl+Alt+T | Opens a new tab. |
Ctrl+Alt+W | Closes the selected tab. |
Tab groups
The Tab Groups feature is used to create sets of tabs to be opened together. The ability of users to manage their own Tab Groups can be done in Role Manager > General tab, and then switch on the Allow user-defined Tab Groups option. If switched off, the users can still use any role-defined Tab Groups.
Manage tab groups
You can go to the Tab Groups tab to create and fill groups to assign to a role. You can use the Tab Groups list to rename, add, delete, and reorder groups. Adding a new group requires you to specify a name, which creates an empty group that you can then add tabs to in the Tabs list.
When you select a group, the tabs assigned to that group are displayed in the Tabs list, where you can add, edit, delete, and reorder tabs. Adding a new tab displays the Resource Wizard, which you can use to select an arbitrary URL, Token, Custom Form, Custom Page, or Utility.
