Configuration Changes for a Horizontally Scaled System

To configure the Lawson system within a horizontally scaled system, you edit the same files that you edit in a single-machine setup. The difference is that each node or machine in the horizontally scaled system has a set of configuration files in the %LAWDIR%\system directory. In most cases, you should make sure that these configuration files remain identical to one another. However, there are the following exceptions:

  • In the install.cfg file, the SECONDARY_SERVER parameter should be set to TRUE on all nodes except the master server for Lawson.

  • Those parameters in latm.cfg, ladb.cfg, lajs.cfg, or elsewhere that affect performance can vary from node to node, if the machines those nodes represent have significantly different memory or processing capabilities, and therefore need to be tuned differently.

  • Parameters that determine the location or name of log, trace, or auditing files can vary by node.
