Multiple endpoint configuration
An endpoint is a designation for a point in your system through which users can access the system. These endpoints can be web servers or they can be load balancers that multiple web servers point to. You might want to use multiple endpoints so that you can control how different types of users access your system. For example, some users may access the system from within an intranet while other access the system from an external location, such as one outside a firewall. You can direct the first class of users to an internal endpoint and direct the other users to an external endpoint.
You define each endpoint with a fully qualified URL designation and a port number. You also group the endpoints into endpoint groups. For example, you can have multiple endpoints that are external, and you would place all of these into the same endpoint group. You also link each endpoint to the Infor Lawson service that it provides access to, such as the SSOP service for authentication.
The following three sections show three sample configurations, ranging from simple to complex:
Single internal endpoint and single external endpoint with S3 Infor Lawson System Foundation
In this scenario, an external endpoint provides access from outside a firewall and an internal endpoint provides access to the Infor Lawson application server for internal users.
See Configuring multiple endpoints for external and internal web servers for information on setting up endpoints for this scenario.
Multiple internal and external endpoints with LBI and S3 Infor Lawson System Foundation
In this scenario, there are multiple external endpoints and multiple internal endpoints that provide access to the Infor Lawson application server and to a server for Infor Lawson Business Intelligence.
See Configuring multiple endpoints for DSP for more information on setting up endpoints for this scenario.
Multiple endpoints for a system with S3 Infor Lawson System Foundation and Landmark
In this scenario, the S3 Infor Lawson System Foundation Environment is federated with the Landmark Environment (that is, both environments share the same Single Sign-On service (SSOPV2). There are separate external endpoints and internal endpoints for each environment, and some of the endpoints must be defined in both Environments for the federating to be fully functional. In the illustration, both environments are installed on the same application server and the external and internal endpoints are through multiple web servers. The Sourcing Supplier web application and the Vendor Self-Service application are used as examples of applications that would be accessed externally.
See Configure Multiple Endpoints for Federated Infor Lawson System Foundation and Landmark Environments for more information on setting up endpoints for this scenario.
