Use of multiple environments

You can have one or more Lawson Environments. Multiple Environments on the same server run independently of one another and do not interact.

Reasons for installing multiple Environments:

  • You want to install a separate test Environment. You might use a test Environment to test software patches or fixes before applying them to the production environment.

  • You have an existing Lawson Environment (such as 9.0.1) and are installing a Lawson Environment for a higher Lawson technology release (such as 10.0.x). Both Environments will exist during the migration process.

  • You have on-site software developers who modify Lawson code, and you want to keep their work separate from Lawson application users. Note that developers could also work in a different product line that you create for them. However, a separate Environment lessens the possibility of their work impacting the production Environment in any direct way.
