Adjusting the Windows Service Control Manager timeout setting

If you encounter problems when stopping or starting the Lawson system, you can increase the timeout setting for the Windows Service Control Manager. The default setting is usually 30 seconds but this could be insufficient to allow enough time to shut down all Lawson processes or start up the Lawson system.

  1. In the Windows Registry, locate this subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

  2. Right-click the subkey, select New, and then select DWORD value.
  3. Replace New Value #1 with ServicesPipeTimeout.
  4. Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout and select Modify.
  5. In the Value field, specify a numeric value representing the number of milliseconds to use for the timeout setting, and click OK.
