To define a printer group in Lawson Interface Desktop (LID)

  1. Access the Printer Group Definition (prtgrpdef) form:

    • From the System Administration menu, choose Environment Group Utilities and then Printer Group Definition.

      - or -

    • From the command line, type:

      prtgrpdef

    The Printer Group Definition form appears.

  2. Type or select the following information:
    Printer Group

    A unique name for the printer group.

    Description

    A short description of the printer group.

    Printer

    A printer defined through the Printer Definition utility (prtdef) or a printer group defined through the Printer Group Definition utility (prtgrpdef).

    Type

    The type of value in the Printer field, either Printer or Group.

    Description

    The description of the printer (from the printer or printer group definition. (Display only)

  3. Press Enter twice.
  4. To restrict user access to the printers defined in a printer group, assign the printer group to the user within the user profile.
