Function Key Descriptions
The following table describes the most common function keys for Lawson application and Environment forms.
Press | To |

Clear | Delete field data that is highlighted from the cursor position to the end of the field, window, or detail line. Press Shift+Clear (F3) to delete field data from the cursor position to the bottom of the form or window. |
Define | Define various objects (for example, step parameters, report distribution, print file names, and so on). On some online forms, pressing Define (F6) transfers you to a maintenance form where you can add a record. |
Delete | Delete a line or object (for example, a job name, record, recurring job, and so on). If you mark a line or object, Delete (F9) deletes the marked lines or objects. |
Detail | Display detail information about an object. |
Dup | Copy the value from the field directly above the active field into the active field. On signed fields, pressing Shift+Dup (F2) copies and reverses the sign of the value typed in the field directly above the active field. |
Edit | Change an object or change the display attributes (for example, highlight, underline, and so on) of an object. |
Find | Open the Find window. To find a specific item, type a search string in the Find window. Within the Find window, Find (F2) works only when the Find window first appears. Pressing Find (F2) puts the search string typed the last time you used the Find window in the active Find window. |
FndNxt | Find the next item in the active form or window that matches the search string typed in the Find window (see Find). Pressing Shift+FndNxt (F3) finds the previous item that matches the search string. |
Help | Display online help for an object. |
Hold | Save the data typed on the current form so you can return to it. |
Home | Move the cursor to the top of the area (form, window, or list) the cursor is in. In some forms or windows, Shift+Home (F10) moves the cursor to the bottom of the area the cursor is in. |
Insert | Insert a blank line above the cursor and move the following lines down one line. On some forms, Insert (F8) lets you add an object. |
JobDef | Access the Job Definition form. For instructions on defining a multiple-step job, see Lawson Administration: Jobs and Reports. |
JobSch | Access the Active Jobs form. |
NxtScr | Access the next required form for data entry. This function key appears on selected online programs with multiple forms. |
PrtMgr | Access the Print Manager. |
Select | Display all valid values for a field and select a value. |
Send | Send output to a file, a printer, or a form. |
Show | View form data in different ways, or view related data. |
Submit | Select submission parameters and submit a job to a job queue. |
TkXfer | Transfer to any program. |
Xfer | Access the transfer menu for the active form. This menu lists the forms you can transfer to from the active form. |
