$DELAY

$DELAY

The $DELAY command causes a delay in printing a group until a nondelayed group prints, or a group with the same level or a higher level prints. For example, heading lines should not print until at least one detail line occurs. This command stacks and holds the heading lines until a detail line occurs; it then prints the heading and detail lines. The stack clears when a group without delay prints.

You cannot use the $DELAY command in the definition of $STDHDR or $STDFTR groups.
