Defining Events
Each file has an initial state, Edit. The Edit state has three default events, Add, Change, and Delete. A state can have only one add- and one change-type event, but as many delete- and function-type events as needed.

Adding an event
For each file, the Database Definition tool defines the default events—Add, Change, and Delete—for the default state, Edit. The Add event is the means by which records are added to the file. Although you can change the name of the Add event, you cannot delete this default event from the file. You can delete the Change and Delete default events.
