Creating an Alert
Use this procedure to create alerts.
- From the ISC navigation bar, click Alerts & Notifications.
- On the Alerts tab, click the plus symbol (+) for New.

In the Alert type section, select the alert type from the list, and
then click Next.
Alerts are classified by these types:

Services: LSF, IPA, LBI, MSCM

Resources: CPU, Memory, File System, WebSphere Heap Size, WebSphere Thread Pool
Note: The CPU, Memory, and File System resources are not available on IBM i systems. -
Diagnostics: Long Running Jobs, Lawson Security Off, LSF Compile Errors, LSF Debug On, Smoke Test, WebSphere Hung Thread, LSF Database

In the Details section,
specify an alert name, a description and additional information, if required, and then
click Next. The additional fields may differ,
depending on the requirement of the utility or service alert.
Alert Type Additional Information Needed CPU Threshold: Enter a number to represent the threshold percentage to check. (This alert type is not available on IBM i systems.) Memory Threshold: Enter a number to represent the threshold percentage to check. (This alert type is not available on IBM i systems.) File System Threshold: Enter a number to represent the threshold percentage to check. (This alert type is not available on IBM i systems.) WebSphere Heap Size Threshold: Enter a number to represent the threshold percentage to check.
Server Type: Select the server whose heap size you want to check.
WebSphere Thread Pool Server Type: Select the server whose thread pool you want to check. Long Running Jobs Job State: The following states can be used for alerts: Active, Needs Recovery or Waiting.
Job Duration: The duration in days, hours, and minutes to check.
WebSphere Hung Thread Server Type: Select the server to check hung threads for. Smoke Test Username, Password, and Product Line: Specify the details for a valid user and product line on Infor Lawson System Foundation against which batch, transaction, profile, data, and drill will be performed.
Lawson Security Off Use to receive a notification if Lawson Security has been turned off. LSF Compile Errors Use to receive a notification if an Infor Lawson program has compile errors. You can view the errors through Compiles on the ISC navigation menu. LSF Debug On Use to receive a notification if debug mode has been turned on. LSF Database Server Type: LSF (cannot be changed) -
In the Notification section, add the recipients of the alert and then click Next. You must enter at least one recipient. You can enter recipients of two types:

Email
Enter a comma-separated list of email addresses

SMS
Enter a comma-separated list of phone numbers (include the country code)

Email

In the Frequency section, specify the alert's start and end date, and
select how frequently the alert must be shown. You must select at least one of the
following options: Hour, Day, Week, unless specified below.
For Custom frequency, you must enter a positive integer in at least one of the following fields: Days, Hours, or Minutes.
For example, you enter 2, 12, and 30, respectively for the Days, Hours, and Minutes fields, the scheduled check would occurs every 2 days, 12 hours, and 30 minutes.
Note: For LSF Database, the only options available for Frequency are Daily and Weekly. - Click Submit.
- After you have created an alert and then later it is in an active or paused state, you can pause or un-pause it by selecting it on the list of alerts and clicking the Current State toggle button. (This button is not available if the alert is completed or inactive.)
