Configuring only selected services to be synchronized

The ISS administration dashboard can be used to specify the services to be synchronized and to perform a sync of only the selected services.

Configure this way if either of the following apply:
  • If you use an application that allows users to self-register, for example, Candidate Space and Vendor Portal, you use this procedure to ensure that candidates and vendors are excluded from the sync. This is because, typically, the self-registered users are on a domain outside the firewall and should not be added to your corporate LDAP.
  • If you have created a unique database service for your site, you would want to exclude the database service from routine synchronization.

Both LSF and Landmark must have sync service lists configured. If both systems do not have lists configured then only the mandatory synced services will be synced from the system that does not have a list configured.

  1. From the administration console dashboard, select Federation->Configure Services for Synchronization.
  2. Select LSF or Landmark from the dropdown.
  3. Keep checkmarks selected for the services you want to sync and remove them from services you do not want to sync. (Synchronizing of some services, for example, SSOP, is mandatory. For mandatory services, the checkmark is grayed-out and cannot be unchecked.)
  4. Click Save when you are finished selecting the services.
  5. Respond to the confirmation message: Are you sure you want to configure the federating services?

If you want to continue with the properties file update, select Yes or No if you want to cancel the update.

If you selected Yes, you will receive a message when the sync services are successfully updated in the properties file.
