Lawson Application Server (LATM)

The Lawson Application Server (LATM) is a Lawson-delivered server that manages the application transactions to reduce the demand on memory and improve performance.

LATM optimizes system performance by opening LA-RTS instances only if they are needed and by sharing the instances among multiple users / clients. Per configuration, Lawson customers determine how many users can share a single copy of a program. When this maximum is exceeded, LATM invokes a new LA-RTS instance. This control helps prevent a bottleneck when too many users share a single resource.

The following diagram shows the basic components of LATM. In the example, the system has been configured for two simultaneous users per application instance. Two GL00 users are sharing a single la-rts instance; two HR11 users are also sharing a single la-rts instance.
