Adding a Condition to a Database Query

Use this procedure to control what data a database query retrieves based on a condition that has been defined for the file you are querying against. To find out more information about a file's conditions, use the Database Definition utility (dbdef). For more information about this utility, see the Application Development Workbench manual (UNIX and Windows) or the Application Development Workbench Standards manual (IBM i).

To add a condition to a database query

  1. Define the basic database query.
  2. In the left pane, expand the list of conditions for the file you are querying against.
  3. Double-click the condition you want to add to the query.
  4. Click Execute to test the query.
