Assigning Security Classes to Roles

Use this procedure to link security classes to a role. Any users with the role will then have the rules in those security classes applied by the security system when they attempt to access an object.

To assign a security class to a role

  1. From the Lawson Security Administrator main screen, click Profile Management and then select the profile you want to work with. (Double-clicking the profile name is one way to do this.)
  2. From the next screen, select the security class you want to work with and then click Roles Assigned.

The Role Assignment for Security Class dialog box appears.

  3. From the list of Available Roles (left side of screen), use the right-pointing arrow to assign a role to a security class.

The role will appear in the Assigned Roles column on the right side of the screen. (To remove a security class from a role, do reverse. From the Assigned Roles column, use the left-pointing arrow to unassign a class to a role.)

  4. Click Close when you are finished assigning security classes to roles.
