Assigning roles to users

If possible, link roles to users when you add their entries to the Lawson system. You can do this when you add users (using either Lawson Security Services on a federated system or the Lawson Security Administrator on a standalone LSF system).

If you need to update a user that has already been added to a federated system, use the LSS tool. If you use Lawson Security or Resource Manager, you will need to run the federation program to ensure that both systems in the federation are synchronized.

If you need to update a user on an LSF standalone system, you can use either Lawson Security Administrator or Resource Manager. Depending on how groups are set up in your site, you might be able to make use of the Resource Management Administrator Mass Assignment feature to save time when linking roles.

Note: The Mass Assignment feature of Lawson Security could be used on a federated system but you would need to rerun the federation procedure after you performed the mass assign procedure.
