Assigning a Profile to a Data Source

Use this procedure to assign a profile to a data source. By assigning a profile to a data source, you indicate what set of security classes and rules Lawson Security will use to authorize a user's access to securable objects within that data source. The data sources that you apply this profile to must belong to a product line on the same application release level and contain the same securable objects as the definition data source in the profile. You can only assign profiles to the data sources for GEN, LOGAN, and your application product lines. For the Admin, ENV, and RM profiles, you can only have one profile that is automatically assigned to the appropriate data source.

Note: If the objects in a data source have the same objects, you can assign a profile to more than one data source at the same time. For example, suppose your Test and Production data sources (in this case, environments) make use of the same forms and tables. You could make a single security profile be the "active" profile for both data sources.
