Hiding a Resource Management Attribute

Lawson-delivered attributes cannot be deleted from schema. However, through Schema Editor you can hide an attribute (either a Lawson-delivered attribute or one that you have created) so that it does not appear on the dialog box when users add or modify resources.

You might want to do this if, for example, there are some attributes on the Add People Resource dialog box that you don't use at your site. Hiding these attributes would simplify the attribute dialog box for users who are updating resource information.

When you hide schema objects, they are not removed from the schema and can contain data, but they cannot be viewed or edited through Resource Management tools (unless they are changed back so that they are again visible).

To hide a Resource Management attribute

  1. From the Schema Editor main menu, click RM Attributes.
  2. Right-click on the attribute you want to hide and then select Properties.

    The Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Hide property. (An attribute is hidden when a checkbox appears in front of Hide. When the checkbox does not appear, the attribute is visible.)

You are now ready to generate an LDIF file and load the changed schema to your LDAP server. For more information, see the section "Running the ldifgen Utility".
