Relating Worksheet Columns to Infor Lawson Fields

After you determine the key and/or required Infor Lawson fields for a form and look up the correct Infor Lawson field names, you "map" the columns in the worksheet to the Infor Lawson form fields using the Map Columns tab in the Upload Wizard.

Use the Map Fields section to define how the rows on the worksheet are uploaded into Infor Lawson.

Note: When you select Left Column Check, the Upload Wizard looks at the far left column of the worksheet and ignores all rows where the left column is blank.

The Worksheet Columns in the active worksheet are listed by letter on the left. The Infor Lawson Field column is blank. Click the Infor Lawson Field cell that corresponds to the worksheet column you want to map. The Infor Lawson fields on the form you selected are displayed in a list. Select the field name to map the field to the worksheet column.

If you don't map a column to an Infor Lawson field, data in that column is ignored by the upload process.

You must also select which rows of data to upload to Infor Lawson. Use the Data Goes From Row... option to select the range of rows you want to upload. Select only rows that contain valid Infor Lawson data. For example, if rows 1 and 2 contain column headings, start the upload at row 3. Do not include blank rows in the range.

If the form contains detail lines, there are some special requirements for mapping fields. See "Working with Detail Field Data".

Example

The employee phone number data you want to change is found on Employee, HR11.1. On the Map Columns tab, map the worksheet columns to the appropriate Infor Lawson form field names.
