Setting User Options

The options set from this menu will take effect when you press OK to close the menu.

  1. Press Define (F6).
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select General from the Options menu.
  4. Press OK.

    The General User Options form appears.

  5. Type or Select (F4) an option, or type in a number to set a new default number of windows.

    Scrolls full window.

    Show Match On Marks the matched phrase on a find.

    Moves cursor to the match but does not mark the string.

    Swap Scroll Keys

    Page Up and Page Down keys work in normal fashion.

    Page Up and Page Down keys work in reverse fashion.

    Visible Returns Off

    On

    New line character displays when Show Visuals is selected.

    Visible Spaces

    Displays spaces as dots when Show Visuals is selected.

    Visible Tabs

    Tabs display as arrows when Show Visuals is selected.

    Tabs do not display when Show Visuals is selected.

    Characters

    Control characters do not display when Show Visuals is selected.

    Tag Window

    New

    Opens a file (based on a tag) in a new window, but keeps the cursor in the current window and current location.

    Replace

    Replaces the file in the current window with the new file. Switch Opens the file in a new window and switches the cursor to that file.

    Auto Save

    Off

    Automatic save feature is disabled.

    On, 1–99 minutes

    Automatic save feature is enabled at the time interval specified.

    • Tab to the interval field.

    • Type the number of minutes between saves.

  6. Press OK.

    The Save Defaults form appears. The path where the new defaults will be saved is shown.

  7. Press OK.
