Types of Files You Can Access and How to Work with them in Lawson Editor

Depending on the kind of file you want to edit, you will use either lx (Lawson Editor) or led (4GL Editor). Lawson Editor can be opened from the Environment menu, from the Program Definition form, or from the platform command line.

Use the Lawson Editor (lx) to open a variety of files, such as text or configuration files (.cfg). For more information, see Accessing the Lawson Editor.

Use the 4GL Editor (led) to edit Lawson 4GL code (similar to COBOL) generated by the Application Development Workbench tools. For more information, see Accessing the 4GL Editor.
