Assigning roles to users

The Resource Management attribute, "PortalRole," determines the role and, therefore, the access rights, of a user. There are several ways to assign a role to a user. You can use any of the methods described here individually or in combination.

• Assign a custom role, that is, a role that has been created at your site, to an individual user.

• Assign a custom default role to all or most users.

• Retain the Infor Lawson-delivered default role (default.xml) for all or most users.

The sections that follow describe the basic procedures for each method of assigning roles. Some of the procedures described here are typically performed by an Infor Lawson security administrator.
