Identify the drill field to be translated

  1. To begin translating the user data, you must do the following:
    • Identify which drill fields contain the data to be translated.

    • Identify the associated 4GL application used to manipulate the contents of the table, with which the drills are referencing.

For example, consider the steps for translating the Title field of the Drill Around, invoked from the Author field in the HR65.1 form.

  2. Perform the matching process.
    • The matching process is done manually, and requires knowledge of the technical construction of the drill, the 4GL applications, and the table it manipulates.

    • The Drill Around from the Author field in the HR65.1 window accesses the PWTITLE table.

  3. Note the key of the field to be translated.

In this example, the Title field has a key of HP1 (for TITLE) in the HR65.1 form
