Distributed batch processing setup overview
The process of setting up distributed batch processing assumes that you have already completed the setup steps described in Horizontal Scaling Installation Guide, including
-
Installation and configuration of the WebSphere J2EE application server
-
Installation of the Infor Lawson Core Technology and configuration of the Infor Lawson Environment
-
Installation of Infor Lawson applications
-
Installation and configuration of a shared file system, including setting up symbolic links from all machines to the shared file system.
Note: Infor Lawson does not support the use of NFS for file sharing in a horizontally scaled system. -
LDAP, relational database, and Lawson Portal installation and setup
Listed below are the main steps to setting up distributed batch processing.
-
Set up the network services for distributed batch processing (tcpjs and tcpexecjob).
-
Define the nodes in the cluster and build the cluster.
-
In the Form ID Definition utility (tokendef), define which nodes batch programs should run on. If you do not use the Form ID Definition utility to indicate where jobs should run, they will run on the machine or node designated as the master batch server. That is, in this case, users could submit jobs from any machine, but they will all run on one machine, the master batch server.
-
Designate which machine is the master batch server.
-
Run rptgen for the Infor Lawson application product line before you create any print files. This helps avoid any time stamp mismatch errors.
-
Turn distributed batch processing on.
-
Turn replication off.
