Display Your License Status

You can display your license status using the License Status utility (licsta). Your license file is stored in the $LAWDIR/system directory.

See the topic about the License Status utility (licsta) in the System Utilities Reference Guide.

Detailed information regarding each column

Column 1: License Code/Application

  • default: A generic code for the system. The license code default is always be unlimited.
  • un: The universe/Environment code for the use of the Environment. The license code un is always be unlimited.
  • Suite: The suites you have purchased and hold licenses for (e.g. HM = Human Resource Management).
  • System Code: The system codes/applications you have purchased and hold licenses for (e.g. BN = Benefits).

Column 2: Active Users

  • The number listed in the Active Users column is a direct representation of the amount of licenses that are currently being used. Each number is system-code specific, and reflects the real-time use of your licenses.

Column 3: Licensed Users

  • Unlimited: An unlimited license. Unlimited licenses allow any amount of users to access the suite. Unlimited licenses are typically set for the default and un values from column 1.
  • Number#: The number of licenses. This value determines the number of users who can access a Lawson suite simultaneously. In the example output provided above, 10 licenses have been provided for the Accounts Payable (AP) system code in the FM suite.

Column 4: Highest Use

  • The number listed in the Highest Use column is a direct representation of the highest amount of licenses being used at any one time within a given system code.

Column 5: Expiration Date

  • Not Licensed: Any system code that is listed as Not Licensed is licensed at the Suite level. For example, the HR (Human Resources) system code is Not Licensed, because it is a default product when HM-Human Resource Management suite is licensed.
  • Date (mm/dd/yyyy): If the Date field is blank, you have never exceeded the maximum amount of licenses available. If the date field is populated, the date listed was the date you exceeded the amount of licenses available for that suite. The Lawson Application system provides you an additional 2 temporary licenses for a 30-day grace period after the first date listed in the Date column. This grace period gives you time to purchase and install additional licenses.
