Application Response Measurement Support

The Lawson System Foundation supports application response measurement at the ARM 4.0 standard. After you configure the Lawson system for ARM, you can use 4.0 ARM-compliant third-party products such as IBM Tivoli or IBM Enterprise Workload Manager (EWLM), to measure response times within the Lawson system.

There are four main steps to enable you to use a third-party 4.0 ARM product to monitor your Lawson system:

  1. Install and set up the third-party application response measurement tool. For instructions, see the documentation for the tool you are installing.

  2. Configure WebSphere for application response measurement. In conjunction with the arm.cfg file setup, this enables monitoring through the Java layer of the Lawson system (the Transaction services of the Internet Object Services). To configure WebSphere for application response measurement

  3. Set up the arm.cfg file. This controls various aspects of application response measurement in the Lawson system. To configure the arm.cfg

  4. Run the Load ARM Configuration File utility (ldarmcfg). To load the ARM configuration file
