To delete a distribution group definition

  1. Access the Distribution Group Definition utility (grpdef):
    • From the Job Control menu, choose Distribution Group Definition.

      - or -

    • At the command prompt, type:

      grpdef

  2. In the header area of the Distribution Group Definition form, type or select the group name you want to delete.
  3. Press Delete (F9).

If the group is not assigned to a job, the system prompts you to choose OK (press Enter) to delete the distribution group.

If the group is assigned to a job, the system tells you which job the distribution group is assigned to and who created the job. At this point, the system does not let you delete the group; you must first change the job's assigned report distribution.

Note: If a job that uses the distribution group is running, then the distribution group cannot be deleted.
  4. Press Enter.
