Deleting Batch Job History

In the course of running jobs and creating reports, Lawson generates numerous print files and log files. Print files are stored in subdirectories of $LAWDIR/print while job logs are stored in $LAWDIR/system/joblog. If you do not clean up these files, they may fill up your system and cause system operation to become unreliable.

To clean up these files and improve system performance, use the Delete Job History utility (deljobhst). The Delete Job History utility (deljobhst) deletes lapm logs, print files, detail files (for reports with the Drill Around feature), completed job logs, and waiting job logs with an Invalid Parameter status. You can also delete individual job logs on the Completed Jobs form when you delete an individual job. Deleting a job removes the GEN database record and the physical job log files, but keeps the physical files (the report could have a distribution group where all users have not yet viewed the report). This does not delete the job reports.

You can run the Delete Job History utility (deljobhst) through an Environment form or from the command line. If you run it through an Environment form, it deletes the job history for all users. If you run it through a command line, you can specify an individual user to delete the job history for. You can also define deljobhst as a user form ID and run it as a recurring job. The recurring job parameters depend on the needs of your organization. Recurring Jobs
