Viewing the Job Log

Note: Deleting a job from the Completed Jobs form also deletes the job log for that job.

Use this procedure to view the log file for a job. You can view the job log for a specific batch job from any of the Job Scheduler forms. The job log shows the user name, job name, queue name, beginning and ending dates of the job run, step name, process ID number, step path, elapsed time, and any messages concerning job execution.

To view a job log

  1. On a Job Scheduler form, select the job you want to review the job log for.
  2. Select Examine Log from the Actions menu.

    The job log is displayed. Any new job information added to the job log after you access it appears on the form, and the system displays the message, “New End-Of-File.”

  3. Press Escape to close the log file.
