To selectively quick-paint

  1. On the Program Definition form, define the new form program, press Define (F6), and choose Paint Program. For instructions, see Defining Programs.
  2. In the Primary Files window, choose the primary file for the program. For instructions, see Selecting the Primary File.
  3. On the Database Structure-Program Structure form, press Define (F6) and choose Quick Form.
  4. Choose Selective Paint from the Quick menu.
  5. In the Quick Form Parameters window, type or select the following data.
    In this field Type or Select (F4)
    Form Name The name of the form.
    Form Type Available with selective-paint only. With quick-paint, you can only define Single Record forms.
    Format Type Lawson (the default), Blocked, Compressed, or Contiguous. For format descriptions, see Quick Painting.
    Field Prompts

    Before to label a field before the field.

    After to label a field after the field.

    None to not label the field.

    File Name Display only. The name of the file from which you can select the fields.
    Index Name The index for the form.
    Derived Fields

    Yes to paint all fields in the file, including derived fields, on the form.

    No not to paint derived fields on the form. The default is No.

    Field Types

    Input to paint input fields on the form. The default is Input.

    Output to paint output-only fields on the form.

    Number of Fields Display only. The number of fields painted on the form.
  6. Press Fields (F7) and select the fields you want painted on the form. Select the fields in the order you want them painted on the form.
  7. Press OK or Paint (F8).
