Defining Parameters for Multiple Tasks

To use a parameter field for more than one task in a program, you must first define the parameter field for one task, then link the parameter field to the additional task. For more information, see Defining a Parameter Field.

To define parameters for multiple tasks

  1. On the Database Structure-Program Structure form, press Define (F6) and choose Parameters.
  2. On the Parameter Definition form, select the parameter field that you want to use for another task.
  3. Press Field (F3) and choose the field type of the parameter.

The system displays the program structure on the bottom half of the form.

  4. Select the task to link to this parameter.
  5. Press OK.

If you have already linked a parameter to a task, the system displays an error message.

  6. In the Parameter Field Definition window, change the field attributes as desired. For more information, see Defining Parameter Field Attributes.
  7. Press OK.

Repeat steps 2 through 6 for each task to which you want to link a parameter.

  8. Press OK.

The system links the parameters to tasks and returns to the Database Structure-Program Structure form.
