Defining Report Options

A standard header, a standard footer, the number of columns, and the number of lines to print on a report are options you can select when defining a report. Before you can define report options, you must define the program and select the primary file. For instructions, see Defining Programsand Selecting the Primary File.

To define report options

  1. On the Database Structure-Program Structure form, press Define (F6) and choose Report Options.

    The Report Options window appears.

    In this field Type or Select (F4)
    Standard Header

    Yes or No. The default is No.

    A standard header can have date, time, page, and parameter fields. For more information, see Defining a Standard Header.

    Standard Footer

    Yes or No. The default is No.

    A standard footer can have total, compute, record count, date, time, page fields, and more. Standard footers and standard headers are defined in the same way.

    Lines On Page

    The number of lines, from 20–99, to print on a page before a page break. The default is 66.

    0 suppresses page breaks.

    Number Of Columns 80 or 132 for the columns on a report page. The default is 132.
