Form Types

You can define three types of forms for an online program: single record, file detail, and header detail.

Single-record forms display or update one record at a time from the primary file. File-detail forms can display or update multiple records from the primary file on a single form. Header-detail forms display or update one record from the primary file and multiple records from the detail file. To paint a header-detail form, you must select a detail relation on the Database Structure-Program Structure form. For instructions, see Defining a Detail file. If you select a detail relation after you have painted the form, the system erases the form.
