Interpreting Forms

Interpreting (prototyping) a form lets you view form presentation and test form functionality before you generate and compile the source code. You run the form using the form definition. Any functions you perform when you interpret an update program updates the database.

To interpret a form

  1. On the Program Definition form, select the program you want to interpret.

    - or -

    On the Database Structure-Program Structure form, select the form you want to interpret.

  2. Press Action (F8) and choose Run.
  3. In the form action field, type or select the action you want to perform.
  4. Type data in the fields.

    Press Select (F4) to select a valid value for a field.

  5. Press OK.
