Using the Define Menu

There are a number of Lawson program development tools provided for changing the appearance of a program, its associated files and text, or the way it operates.

To define other program attributes

  1. Press Define (F6).
  2. Select an option from the following table.

    4GL Source Open the Lawson 4GL Editor to edit the source code. The Lawson Editor manual.
    Note: If you generate Lawson 4GL source code for a program and modify that code using the Lawson Editors, you can no longer make changes by painting the program; hand-coded functionality is overwritten when you generate the painted program again.
    Form View the form ID, title, and transfer menu for the program. Type a new title, if desired. For more information on forms and form IDs, see Getting Started with the Lawson Interface Desktop (LID).
    Work File Open Work File Definition. Defining Work Files in this section.
    Messages Open Message Definition. Defining Messages in this section.
  3. Make your changes and save them.
  4. Exit the program development tool.

    The Program Definition form appears.
